DOWNTOWN STREET AND SAFETY AWARENESS – Downtown Penticton Association Incident & Suspicious Activity Report
June 2019
Incident and Suspicious Activity Report – DPA 2019
The Downtown Penticton Association regularly receives complaints from merchants regarding instances when they, or their customers, have felt unduly bothered and/or intimidated by others in our streets or alleyways. Incidents we hear about generally relate to issues pertaining:
- Persistent panhandling
- Public Drug/Alcohol Use
- Intimidating or threatening behavior
- Health issues
In order to help us gauge the severity and frequency of such instances, please fill out the appropriate forms whenever you experience, or hear from a customer that they have experienced this kind of situation. Reporting is the most crucial step in building a case against any aggressive behaviours. These forms are soon to be set up on our website as a fillable online form, which will be sent to the DPA office via email.
To get the forms back to us, you can:
- Call us, and we will pick them up 250 493 8540
- Scan and email
- Drop at our office 212 Main St Unit #3 (after-hours slide under the door)
If you have any questions about this form, please call Lynn Allin at the DPA office. The data collected will be reviewed by the DPA then reported to the appropriate organization or city department.
Thank you for taking the time to work with us on this new reporting process.
