The Downtown Penticton Association is a registered not-for-profit society, governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors who represent the diverse interests of our society members. We hold our annual general meeting every March.

Christina Conquergood – Vice President

Christina grew up in the lower mainland of BC and moved to Penticton in the Spring of 1990. Her husband is a self-employed electrical contractor; one of their sons works for him, and their other two sons are City of Penticton firefighters.

Christina worked for CIBC for over 20 years. She started as a teller and moved up the ladder to Branch Manager before she left the bank for a more personally fulfilling career, helping women feel beautiful in her store, Peaches Lingerie, in happening downtown Penticton!

Christina believes in our city and the DPA’s vision for a vibrant Downtown Core. This is why she is proud to be an executive member of the DPA board.

Cheryl Watts  –  Treasurer

Branch Manager, Valley First Penticton Main Branch

Cheryl began her financial industry career with RBC in Victoria. Before joining Valley First in December 2010, she held a number of positions including manager of personal financial services and branch manager.

Cheryl’s education includes the Canadian securities and personal financial planning designations. Born and raised in Penticton, Cheryl is passionate about her hometown and the people that make it the best place to live. She is active in the community having sat on the West Bench Irrigation District Board for over 10 years and working on an advisory committee for the City of Penticton.

Away from work, Cheryl likes to ski, dragon boat, play golf, do pilates and travel.

Steve Brown – Secretary

Property Owner

Steve Brown has lived in Penticton for 41 years with his wife Maria. Steve has an accounting degree and has worked in various manufacturing industries for 20 years. He also spent a few years in the Public Sector as Budget Coordinator for Penticton Regional Hospital and the Secretary-Treasurer of Penticton and District Society for Community Living. After the takeover of the hospital by Interior Health, Steve left and opened Peach City Runners on Main Street, where it remains today although under new ownership.

In his spare time, he was also the Race Director for Ironman Canada and later with Challenge Penticton. His varied background in Industry, the Public Sector and private business and downtown property owner makes Steve a welcome member of the Board. Steve is now in his third year on the Board and 2nd year on the Executive.
