The first annual Penticton Jail & Bail was an outstanding success. Over 35 individuals were arrested by Penticton RCMP and brought downtown to central holding due to outstanding warrants with charges including “failure to yield at the end of a sentence”, “grand theft coffee” and “excessive awesomeness.” Once booked in, the guilty party would have to call friends, family and coworkers to raise bail money with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society. The final tally hasn’t been completed yet but it is estimated that over $14,000 was raised on the one-day event.

Our friends over at ShawTV put together an excellent (and very funny) overview of the whole event – check it out below!
