The City of Penticton and the DPA are pleased to present a solution to the garbage and recycling in Downtown Penticton.
The DPA in partnership with the City of Penticton have made changes to the Solid Waste and Recycle Bylaw to allow the permanent placement of totes for waste and recycling within the lane behind businesses. Garbage totes are an increasingly popular solution in most municipalities.
A few points:
- There are no changes to large, front-load bins (also known as “dumpsters”)
- Totes are allowed in the lane at all times, 7 days per week
- Only totes will be allowed in the lanes, with the exception of residential curbside garbage collection provided by the City (contact us if you need to know more about this)
- The DPA is working with collection companies on service details so that frequency and price meet the needs of Downtown businesses
Please contact the DPA with any questions you may have. Garbage and recycling collection can be set up by contacting one of the businesses below.
